Q. Do I have to terminate my pregnancy?
A. No, you do not have to have an abortion. Why should you choose to take his/her life early? Perinatal Hospice allows you the memory of having done all you can for your child – without regret, and that’s a very special memory to have.
Q. Will carrying my baby to term hurt me or my baby?
A. Usually the answer is no. However, that can’t be determined with certainty until after the consultation with the perinatologist. Then, we will have established as best we can, the course and outcome of your special situation.
Q. What happens at delivery?
A. You can have input into this process as you participate in the development of the birth plan with your Perinatal Hospice team. Almost certainly, your OB/GYN or Family Physician, Perinatologist, Anesthesiologist, Nursing personnel and clergy are involved.
Q. Can family be involved?
A. Not only does Perinatal Hospice encourage family involvement, we actually help you plan for it – if that is your wish. This can be a very special event for all the family, and a more healthy experience for siblings.
Q. What about my needs?
A. Our staff makes themselves available to you 24 hours a day. The Perinatal Hospice team is dedicated to support you during this journey.
